Many people with dizziness, imbalance, or vertigo have trouble getting a diagnosis. Often symptoms are complex or difficult to describe. Whether you are suffering from dizziness, vertigo, poor balance, brain fog, unsteadiness or motion sensitivity, our experienced team of vestibular audiologists at Lakeside Hearing, Balance, and Tinnitus can help.

We offer objective testing and tailored rehabilitation.

We offer objective audio-vestibular testing and tailored vestibular rehabilitation to patients in the interior to prevent unnecessary travel to Vancouver.

Our objective assessments will help determine whether a vestibular disorder is present and allow us to develop an individualized treatment plan based on the findings.

How Does Balance Work?

Good balance and coordination should be natural. If your balance becomes affected, it can be debilitating and simple activities such as walking across a room, going up and downstairs, or getting out of bed can be difficult or even dangerous. Our team understands and can objectively assess the complex connections between the brain, inner ear (vestibular system), eyes, and muscles to help guide you on your path to better balance.

Hearing plays a key part in balance.

Routine hearing tests are an important part of maintaining good hearing health. Our ears give us important information about what is around us to maintain our orientation in space. Conditions that can affect the balance sensors in the inner ear can also affect the hearing sensors and their pathways. Some vestibular disorders may result in hearing loss, tinnitus (perception of ringing or other sounds in the ears), reduced sound tolerance, or ear pressure. Managing hearing loss is an important part of a vestibular treatment plan.
