Lenire Kelowna Tinnitus Treatment

Sound and gentle tongue stimulation — working together.

Lenire® pairs soothing sounds through Bluetooth headphones with mild pulses to the tongue via the Tonguetip. Used together, they work to help the brain respond differently to tinnitus, reducing how bothersome it feels for many patients.

This approach is called bimodal neuromodulation — stimulating two points of the nervous system at the same time. Clinical studies showed stronger outcomes than sound-only therapy for many patients with moderate or worse tinnitus.

Frequently asked questions about Lenire®

Lenire is a tinnitus treatment that combines sound therapy through headphones with gentle electrical stimulation of the tongue. This approach is known as bimodal neuromodulation and is designed to help reduce the impact tinnitus has on daily life.
“Bimodal” simply means two forms of stimulation happening together.

While you listen to carefully programmed sounds through headphones, a small device called a Tonguetip delivers gentle pulses to the surface of your tongue. These signals reach the brain at the same time and are designed to encourage positive changes in the neural pathways associated with tinnitus.

Lenire is the first tinnitus treatment of its kind to receive FDA approval and has been studied in large clinical trials involving thousands of patients.

No. Lenire is not a cure for tinnitus.

The goal of treatment is to reduce the burden tinnitus places on your daily life. Many patients report improvements in areas such as sleep, concentration, stress, and overall quality of life. Results vary from person to person.

You may be a candidate if:

  • You have chronic tinnitus that has persisted for several months or longer
  • Your tinnitus affects your sleep, concentration, mood, or daily activities
  • You’re looking for a non-invasive treatment option
  • You’re able to commit to using the device consistently at home

The best way to determine candidacy is through a comprehensive tinnitus assessment.

Your appointment includes a detailed review of your hearing health and tinnitus experience.

This may include:

  • A hearing evaluation
  • Review of your tinnitus history and symptoms
  • Completion of tinnitus questionnaires, including the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI)
  • Discussion of previous treatments you’ve tried
  • Review of your treatment options
  • Determination of whether Lenire is appropriate for your situation

If Lenire isn’t the right fit, we’ll discuss other options that may help.

Every patient’s experience is different.

Some patients report noticing changes within the first several weeks of treatment, while others require a longer period of consistent use before experiencing meaningful improvement. Clinical studies have shown improvements continuing over time with ongoing use.
